Speed, Efficiency, and hitting the major landmarks
Short Time but don't want to miss the magic?
Experience the legendary mountain passes and iconic viewpoints of Northern Vietnam in one action-packed weekend.
Perfect for travelers with limited schedules.
Why The 2 Day Loop
Short on time but refuse to miss Northern Vietnam’s most legendary route?
The 2-Day Express Loop is designed specifically for travelers on a tight schedule. We have condensed the massive Ha Giang Loop into an action-packed 48-hour itinerary that hits all the major landmarks without the fluff.
While this tour is faster-paced than our classic 3-day route, you won’t compromise on the views.
You will still conquer the “Big Three”: the winding Tham Ma Pass, the historic H’Mong King Palace, and the majestic Ma Pi Leng Pass. This is a high-energy journey focused on riding and sightseeing—perfect for those who want to maximize every hour in Ha Giang.
Highlights
✅ Conquer Ma Pi Leng Pass: Ride the “King of Passes,” famous for its vertical cliffs and breathtaking views of the valley below.
✅ Nho Que River Boat Ride: Descend into the Tu San Canyon for a boat cruise on the turquoise waters (Ticket included).
✅ The “Nine-Turn” Pass: Snap the iconic photo at Tham Ma Pass, the winding road where horses were once tested.
✅ Quan Ba Heaven Gate: Start your journey with panoramic views above the clouds at the gateway to the Dong Van Karst Plateau.
✅ H’Mong King Palace: Step back in time at the century-old Vuong family mansion, an architectural masterpiece of the region.
✅ Authentic Homestay: Spend the night in Dong Van or Yen Minh enjoying a family-style dinner and “Happy Water” with your hosts.
DAY 1
Every Ha Giang Loop tour begins with a free night’s stay at Ha Giang Safari Hostel the evening before your ride—so you can arrive, settle in, and start the trip feeling rested. You’ll wake up to a free breakfast with your choice of omelette, fried eggs, or pancakes, plus coffee or tea.
After breakfast, Thảo (Safari’s owner) will meet with your small group to brief the route and what to expect. Then it’s time to:
- Secure your bags in our lockers
- Complete payment/check-out
- Choose your helmet
- Meet your easy rider
- Head out on your unforgettable Ha Giang Loop adventure!
Don’t forget to tag @hagiangsafari so we can share your memories!
As you ride through Bac Sum Pass, you’ll notice the scenery change dramatically. The road begins to wind through the mountains, revealing wide open views, mist-covered valleys, and endless layers of green hills—your first real taste of Ha Giang’s raw, untouched beauty.
Along the way, we’ll stop at the best viewpoints so you can grab a coffee, take photos, stretch your legs, or use the restroom before continuing deeper into the Ha Giang Loop.
Arrive at Heaven Gate, the highest viewpoint of the region. Take a moment to breathe in the crisp mountain air and admire the stunning panoramic views of terraced rice fields and deep valleys. This is one of the most famous photo spots on the Ha Giang Loop!
Next stop: Quan Ba’s Twin Mountains – a natural wonder with two perfectly shaped, symmetrical hills. Locals call them “Fairy Mountains”, believing they hold mystical legends of love and fertility.
Time for family style lunch! We’ll stop in Yen Minh town for a hearty traditional lunch. Enjoy the cuisine of Northern Vietnam including grilled meats, fresh veggies, fries, rice, spring rolls, and more prepared by local families.
Special dietary restrictions? No problem! There’s a meal for everyone sitting at the table to enjoy.
The Dong Van Karst Plateau is a major geo heritage site in Vietnam. You will see a lot of terraced rice fields, thousands of limestone rocks, magnificent views and hidden villages in the valley.
Locals will be working in the mountains, and you will get to experience the life of Northern ethnic minorities. You will make a stop at the residence of the Vuong’s family, which is called Hmong King Palace.
Your riders will take you to the Flag Point of Vietnam, which is near the Chinese border and the most famous Northern viewpoint of the country.
The trip will continue to the famous town of Dong Van, where you can explore the area and the local night market to try Vietnamese street food.
You’ll then have family-style dinner with your small group and easy riders where they’ll teach you the famous Vietnamese cheers. After that is the time to rest, sing karaoke, and play games!
DAY 2
Start the day with breakfast at 8:00 AM before heading toward Ma Pi Leng Pass, the most famous and dramatic section of the loop. This pass of the Ha Giang Province is known as the “King of Passes.”
You’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of deep valleys and towering limestone cliffs. Below, the emerald-green Nho Que River snakes through the mountains.
Tip: Most travelers call this the most “breathtaking” part of the loop!
Enjoy another family-style lunch with your small tour group as you continue your second day on the Ha Giang Loop.
Travel through remote community villages, home to the H’Mong, Tay, and Dao people, known for their vibrant traditional clothing and unique culture. See the daily life in action, where villagers trade handmade crafts, fresh produce, and textiles.
Tip: Take home a handcrafted souvenir with a story behind it!
The final stretch winds you back through quiet valleys and winding roads, giving you one last taste of the mountains. It’s a peaceful ride — a time to reflect, smile, and realize you’ve just completed one of Vietnam’s most unforgettable journeys.
Back in Ha Giang City, you’ll return with not just photos, but stories, new friends, and a feeling of pure freedom. You’ll say goodbye to your easy rider and tour group who now feel like family.

Danke Safari-Team!Posted on Joey FischgroundTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. loved my experience ! my driver Huy was so coolPosted on Antonia LauleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very well organised Tour, and really friendly staff- they also were very helpful when we had to make some changes. Remember to bring very warm clothing when doing the tour in Winter.Posted on Laura GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Posted on Jana HannappelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 🙌🏍️Posted on LisaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. About the hostel - the staff is VERY VERY nice and helpful 🙏 - The beds we had for the night were dirty, smelly, the blanket was stained and full of hair and smelled also really bad. It’s clear they were not changed for a few days. I felt so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep, only to realise in the middle of the night that my bed was also full of bedbugs. I had to change in the middle of the night, because of all this stress I didn’t sleep at all which was not a good start for the tour. If the beds had been checked and changed, this wouldn’t have happened. We now have to wash and treat all of our stuff, waste money and time on our trip to take care of this. About the tour - overall a nice experience! except for the part where we realised a lot of the stops from the program were skipped. Last day felt totally improvisedPosted on Crank ScorpioTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on your experience and comfort level. The roads are steep, winding, and unpredictable, with sharp mountain turns, fog, rain, and occasional rough conditions. We strongly recommend choosing an easy rider, so you can relax, stay safe, and enjoy the scenery without stress. Many travelers say riding with an easy rider is the best way to experience the loop.
The Ha Giang Loop can be safe, but it depends on weather and who you ride with. At Ha Giang Safari Hostel & Tour, we focus on safety by running small group tours, using experienced local guides and easy riders.
We recommend bringing a small backpack (15–25L) to carry with you on the loop, while leaving your larger luggage safely at the hostel. Essentials include comfortable clothes, a light jacket or warm layer, and rain protection (raincoat or poncho), plus closed-toe shoes for walking and riding. Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, and basic toiletries.
It’s also important to bring cash, since there are fewer ATMs along the route—cash is useful for coffees, snacks, souvenirs, and for tipping your amazing easy rider if you’d like to say thank you! Other helpful items include a power bank, and your passport or ID to keep everything smooth during the trip.
Yes! We run Ha Giang Loop tours every day, so you can join a trip no matter what day you arrive. Our group size can vary depending on the season. It may be larger during peak months and smaller during the quieter low season, but we always keep the experience fun, well-organized, and supported by our local team.
Yes! Solo travelers are absolutely welcome on our Ha Giang Loop tours. We welcome all group sizes—whether you’re traveling alone, with a partner, or with friends. Many solo travelers love joining Safari because we focus on small group tours, making it easy to connect.
