Ha Giang Safari Hostel
Your Ha Giang Loop adventure begins with a complimentary night's stay and free breakfast the morning of your tour at Ha Giang Safari Hostel. You will get assigned an Easy Rider for the tour. Tip: Pack only what you need for 4 days in a small bag. Leave the rest locked safely at the hostel.
Bac Sum Pass & Heaven Gate (Quan Ba)
The first day brings a dramatic shift in scenery as you leave Ha Giang city behind. Your first major stop is Heaven Gate (Cổng Trời), reached by crossing the Bac Sum Pass. At the summit, you'll see the panoramic view of Tam Son town and the iconic Twin Mountains (Núi Đôi).
Tam Son
Enjoy family-style lunch with local Vietnamese flavors in the charming town of Tam Son. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
Lung Khuy Cave
Lung Khuy Cave is one of the region's most impressive natural wonders. A uphill hike leads you to the cave entrance, filled with dramatic formations of stalagmites and stalactites that have been sculpted over thousands of years.
Yen Minh
The final stretch treats you to more of Ha Giang's jaw-dropping mountain scenery as you wind your way into Yen Minh town. Arrive at your homestay and settle in before family-style dinner. The night comes alive with karaoke, pool, and a taste of Ha Giang's famous happy water — a special corn spirit unique to the region.
Tham Ma Pass
One of the most photographed spots on the entire Ha Giang Loop, Tham Ma Pass has the iconic S-curve road snaking through the mountains. H'Mong locals are often found here in their traditional dress, and souvenirs are available.
H’Mong King Palace (Vuong Palace)
Step back in time with a visit to Vuong Palace, the magnificent former residence of H'Mong King Vuong Duc Chinh and his son Vuong Chi Sinh. Built in the early 20th century and blending Vietnamese, Chinese, and H'Mong architectural styles.
Lung Cu Flagpoint
One of the most iconic stops on the Ha Giang Loop, Lung Cu Flag Tower sits at the northernmost point of Vietnam, perched high on Dragon Mountain just a stone's throw from the Chinese border. Vietnam's national flag flys proudly overhead against a vast panorama of mountains and valleys. The tower itself is built in the shape of a dragon's head.
Dong Van Town
As the afternoon light fades, your Easy Rider guides you into the charming old town of Dong Van. Dinner is family-style. In the winter months, warm up with hotpot. If your trip falls on a weekend, Dong Van's famous night market comes alive in the evening, drawing locals and travelers for a lively spread of street food, local produce, and highland culture.
This is the day that makes the tour what it is. Start the morning in Dong Van with an early breakfast at 7:30am. The tour will get a headstart to the day leaving at 8:30am. You'll meet with the tour leader to go over the plan for the day.
Ma Pi Leng Pass
Widely regarded as the most spectacular pass in all of Vietnam, Ma Pi Leng is the crown jewel of the loop. It's a dramatic stretch of road carved into limestone cliffs that plunges down to the waters of the Nho Que River.
Sunday Market
Start the day exploring a local market in Ha Giang, only open on Sunday morning. Vendors sell hot street foods, handmade items, and traditional specialties.
The Unexplored Route
Ride a route unexplored by tourists where you'll see real local life on the Ha Giang Loop.
Village Visit
Depending on what the community needs, you'll help present that month's contribution — whether it's supplies, essentials, or a direct donation. Because some villages sit high in the remote mountains, we meet at a central spot where everyone can gather together.
Boat Ride on Nho Que River
After taking in the views from above at Ma Pi Leng, descend to the banks of the Nho Que River. Board a traditional boat and cruise along the river.
Hike the Skywalk
Walk out onto the iconic skywalk near Ma Pi Leng Pass for golden views over the Ha Giang Loop mountains. The hike up is worth it — every step.
Homestay Experience
Your last evening is made special with a hands-on cooking class, where you'll learn to make fresh phở cuốn (rice noodle rolls) from scratch. It's simple, satisfying, and easy to recreate at home — so a little piece of Vietnam travels back with you. The night continues with a final family dinner feast to celebrate the journey together. From there, it's karaoke, happy water, and a night's rest before the trip comes to a close.
Du Gia Village
Start your morning with a homemade breakfast at the homestay. If you're lucky, there may be a local morning market taking place just outside, where you can experience everyday life in rural Vietnam, with local people, fresh produce, livestock, and traditional foods.
Thâm Luông Waterfall
Cool off with a swim at the beautiful waterfall in Tham Luong Village, one of the most relaxing stops on the Ha Giang Loop. Towel rentals are available. Feeling adventurous? Take the plunge with some optional cliff jumping before continuing your journey.
Duong Thuong Valley
Travel through the peaceful valley of Duong Thuong, where winding roads pass traditional villages, terraced rice fields, and stunning mountain scenery. This quieter stretch of the Ha Giang Loop offers a glimpse into everyday local life.
Thuan Hoa & Thai An Village
Stop in Thai An Village for your final lunch of the Ha Giang Loop, enjoying one last delicious family-style meal together. Surrounded by peaceful countryside and mountain views, it’s the perfect place to relax. After lunch, continue through the Thuan Hoa area, passing rolling hills, scenic valleys, and traditional rural villages.
Ha Giang Safari Hostel
The final stretch of the loop brings one last taste of Ha Giang's magic — a ride back through the winding mountain roads, passing through quiet villages and sweeping landscapes. Arrive back at Ha Giang Safari Hostel around 4:30–5:00pm.Freshen up with a shower, grab a coffee or tea, and help yourself to some snacks and take your time saying your goodbyes to your Easy Rider guides. We can help you with booking your bus to your next destination!
